Resilience

When things go wrong, it’s pretty easy to think “it’s not worth it” “I’m not cut out for this” “I’ll just go with the easier option”

I’ve realised over the years that it’s so much better to be honest, say it as it is and then get on with making small steps, little improvements and changes. People appreciate a transparent approach that is totally realistic and manages everyone’s expectations right from the offset.

In August of 2022 I lost a considerable client that I consulted for. I’d spent the last 18 months putting in 100%, working 60+ hr weeks when they were required and answering the phone at some ungodly hours. I did that because regardless of the situations that I was trying to smooth out (on my clients behalf) I wanted to maintain a professional reputation.

The industry in question is brand building, for individuals with a profile - from sport, tv, music and social media. So the stakes are high, there’s loads of customers, high expectations and sometimes long lead times and complicated supplier matters to handle.

When the contract ended - due to the business closing I could have stopped taking calls from end clients with questions or issues and worked on something else. But I care. I continue to take calls, for no other reason than trying to do the right thing and helping people out when they need it.

As a result, we’ve been asked if we can support in a more formal way to build brands on talents behalf. And that, is how BR& was born - from caring, honesty and building relationships.

To speak to any of the team about how BR& can support you get in touch today.
